Brass Construction's self-titled 1975 album is an important funk/soul album, which contains the classic "Movin'" (peaking at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart). The driving rhythms and positive message showed how the band were able to create fresh songs in the days of rock and punk. The nine-piece group centred around Randy Muller and blended Caribbean, African and American music together.
