Nu Genea - People Of The Moon (Black Vinyl LP) in details
After Bar Mediterraneo, Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina widen Nu Genea's orbit with People Of The Moon: the title names a mindset rather than a myth—a space of creative freedom that appears once social guardrails fall away. Sung and rapped across Neapolitan, Arabic, English, Spanish and Portuguese voices, the set chases anxieties and dreams through groove, from Afro-Cuban currents in Celavi to Anatolian colour in Ma tu che bbuò, threading highlife guitars with Nu Genea's mandolin-laced signatures.
Lead single Sciallà (2025) framed the campaign as dance-as-catharsis; the title track keeps a quieter stubbornness while Onenon, with Tom Misch, leans into Mediterranean brit-funk and Acelera, with María José Llergo, flirts with flamenco velocity. Puleza nods to Nuova Napoli's synth heat, Shway shway with Celinatique traces Tony Allen-style afrobeat orbits, and Gabriel Prado closes with Ondas do mar—tidal motion as metaphor for the album's pull.
Ten songs keep melody upfront (Carè among them), letting falling, flying and dancing share the same suspended groove—an Italian lens on Black Atlantic rhythms filtered through moonlit night drives.
